Commemorate the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation’s first collective bargaining agreement! Current members will gather with alumni and allies in Eugene, OR to celebrate four decades of graduate employee collective bargaining at the University of Oregon.
We invite you to join us Friday, November 9th – Sunday, November 11th, 2018 in Eugene. There will be a bargaining rally on Friday, panels during the day Saturday, and social events for members old and new to get together. Our Saturday panels and banquet dinner will coincide exactly with the anniversary of the signing of the original Contract Bargaining Agreement on November 10th, 1978.
We will have special guest speakers, including: Jane McAlevey (author of No Shortcuts, Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age, and Raising Expectations (and Raising Hell): My Decade Fighting for the Labor Movement), Mary Cathryn Ricker (Executive Vice President, American Federation of Teachers), Gordon Lafer (author of The One Percent Solution: How Corporations Are Remaking America, One State at a Time), Bob Bussel (Director, Labor Education and Research Center), and David Newby (President Emeritus, Wisconsin AFL-CIO).
